Chapter Chairs: Mike Mage and Mandinema Kumbula-Fraser
The Montgomery County Chapter of the ACLU meets at 7:30 pm every 4th Wednesday of the month at the Cedar Lane Unitarian Church, on Cedar Lane, in Bethesda. Recently, the Chapter has focused on law enforcement issues, including local police enforcement of federal immigration laws, racial profiling, civilian review of the Police Department, and police use of tasers. The Chapter has recently been active in advocating for fixes to troubling provisions of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
Prince George's County
Chapter Chair: Lowell Owens
The Prince George’s County Chapter of the ACLU meets in Greenbelt. The Chapter has worked to protect the separation of church and state in Prince George’s County public schools. The Chapter has also monitored police misconduct in the County, as well as how well the County’s Citizen Complaint Oversight Panel is functioning to protect the rights of residents.
Please contact the ACLU of Maryland to get involved with the chapters.
