2022 Maryland Nonprofits Legislative Preview

January 10, 2022 @ 9:00 am 3:30 pm

The Maryland Nonprofits Legislative Preview is your opportunity to learn what other nonprofits will be working on, how the legislature will function, and how you can be an effective advocate in the coming year – plus you’ll have a chance to connect with advocates with similar priorities to yours.

During this virtual convening, you will hear from public officials and leading nonprofit advocates and be able to join small group discussions on a range of issues – the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), systemic racism, funding of education, the impact of COVID-19, protection of the health and environment, and more.

Two optional afternoon sessions will provide you with detailed advice on organizing, planning, and implementing strategies to bring about change in policies and programs.

Yanet Amanuel, interim public policy director at ACLU of Maryland, will lead a breakout discussion on cannibis legalization and reparations.
