We are hosting our next chapter meeting on Wednesday, April 10th from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Silver Spring Civic Building.

At the meeting, we will discuss:

  • Racial Justice and Montgomery County policing practices: Specific proposals for meaningful reform of the policing policies, practices, and training that have disproportionately and negatively penalized people of color - as exemplified in the Robert White case (at the meeting, we will screen a video of a public event the Silver Spring Justice Coalition hosted in June to protest the outcome);
  • Immigration Rights, including recent cases where upstanding community members are being targeted for their immigration status despite the "broken" immigration system and the advocacy of US government officials in favor of illegal and unfair treatment of immigrants, lawful asylum seekers, and their families, as well as proposals for improving how MoCo Government deals with immigration-related issues; and
  • Chapter Co-Chair Elections
