Open Government

ACLU of Maryland's open government work focuses on transparency and the Maryland Public Information Act.

The ACLU of Maryland believes that a government of the people and by the people must be visible to the people. We work to ensure that government is operating in a manner that is accountable, efficient, and fair. The Maryland Public Information Act, in particular, is an important tool for exposing and remedying injustice, and we vigorously enforce public records and open meetings laws.
