Bio

Jordy Diaz is a community organizer in Montgomery County whose work centers on immigrant rights, civil liberties, and police accountability. He led the Decriminalize Montgomery County campaign, a youth-led coalition of more than 35 organizations that won new oversight requirements for police consent searches and commitments from county school leadership to preserve restorative justice practices. He has testified before the Maryland General Assembly and the Montgomery County Council in support of legislation protecting Maryland residents regardless of immigration status.

The son of Honduran immigrants, Jordy believes deeply in building power and opportunity for young people from working-class immigrant families like his own. That belief runs through everything he does, from mentoring high school students in organizing and advocacy to coaching youth athletes as a USAW-certified Olympic weightlifting coach. He is a 2024 graduate of Towson University, where he studied Political Science with a minor in Human Rights and History.
