In the past seven months, the newly all-white Board has unveiled a political agenda to censor books that affirm Black and LGBTQIA+ experiences while blocking approval of a state-endorsed English Language Arts curriculum that the local Board spent over a year developing, just weeks before the school year begins.

As the school system considers its response to the ACLU’s letter, Howard County for a Free Palestine, Our Revolution Howard County, ACLU-MD, and CAIR-MD will be holding a press conference to demand immediate action from HCPSS.

This morning, oral arguments concluded in Bradford v. Maryland State Board of Education, a case in the Appellate Court of Maryland on behalf of Baltimore City Public Schools (BCPSS) families, challenging the State of Maryland's funding and resources provided to BCPSS.

The decision from the Court in the Bradford case, which spans three decades, leaves another generation of schoolchildren in Baltimore City Public Schools without the equitable funding needed for a quality education
