Nicole McCann is the Communications & Engagement Strategist for ACLU of Maryland’s Education program. She develops and implements traditional and digital communications as well as community engagement strategies to advocate for Baltimore City students. Prior to joining the ACLU, Nicole was the Digital Communications Manager at Center for Food Safety and Director of Food Campaigns at Green America. She began her advocacy career as a canvasser for the U.S. Public Interest Research Group and its action fund, Environment America, as well as a campus organizer for US PIRG’s subsidiary Progressive Future for the 2008 Presidential election. She received a Master’s Degree in Global Environmental Policy from American University and studied Natural Resources and Sustainable Development at the United Nations University for Peace in Costa Rica. In her spare time, Nicole is a volunteer case manager at a Baltimore reproductive justice organization.
